Ali Rajabi

Ali Rajabi

I started dancing 7 years ago, and tried several styles before finding a deep passion for West Coast Swing.

What is striking with this dance is its versatility, freedom of expression and adaptability to a broad range of music genres, old and contemporary alike!

I once heard if you could dance West Coast Swing like a pro, you'd be able to dance anything like a pro! Give it shot, and I bet you'd fall in love with it! I'd be delighted to share my experience with you!

Arianne Manary

Arianne Manary

West Coast Swing is the dance that gets me excited and eager every single night. I adore the deep connection between partners, the way I can incorporate all the other dances I know and love, the variety of music you can dance to, and the creative freedom you have for each 3-minute dance. It's also the most fun thing to watch!

My goal is to share the love I have for this dance with all those who haven't been lucky enough yet to experience it. It has certainly changed my life, and I know it can move and change the lives of others.

Retaking Classes

Here at the Hepcat Swing, we have a special philosophy about learning. We do not endorse the standard methods used by schools where after you finish one grade you progress to the next and you don’t worry too much about that concept that you didn’t really understand.

Instead, we readily encourage students to take a class over as many times as they want to. They could even switch roles and learn what the other side feels like. Students find that when they take a class the second time they are able to apply the concepts better and they hear content that they may have missed the first time. In order to facilitate this kind of continuing education we offer a special discount to anyone who wants to take a class over.

Here is how it works: any class that you have already paid for and completed you are welcome to revisit at a discounted rate. If you are going to be taking a new class in that same stream (e.g. Swing or West Coast) then you may retake the completed class at no additional charge. However, if you are not taking a class in the same stream as the class you would like to revisit then you would just have to pay $16!

Membership

A membership makes you a part owner of the not-for-profit organization. It gives you the power to vote and elect the directors of the board at the annual general meeting. You have a voice to determine where we go in the future!

As a member, you will receive the following discounts:

Memberships are $50 and are valid for one year from the date of sale. You'll save the cost of membership after 10 dances and 2 regular-priced classes! For more details, ask someone at the desk next time you're at the studio or purchase them online at hepcatswing.com.
